HERE for You: Summer Cool Down Returns for Fourth Year
TPD Hosts Free Community Event to Build Relationships and Beat the Heat
July 16, 2025
The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) is proud to announce the return of its HERE for You: Summer Cool Down. Now in its fourth year, this popular summer tradition brings officers and the community together in a fun, relaxed environment designed to foster meaningful conversations and positive connections.
This year's event will take place on Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tom Brown Park in the Amphitheatre Area.
The event is completely free and open to all ages. Families can enjoy a community water day featuring:
- Snow cones and food (while supplies last)
- Kids activities and water games
- Giveaways
- Music and more
"Being present and available to the community we serve is essential to building trust," Chief Lawrence Revell said. "This event is one of my favorites because it gives our officers and residents a chance to interact outside of a crisis or critical incident, in a positive space where relationships can grow. Events like this remind everyone that we are truly HERE for You, not just in emergencies, but every day."
Community engagement is an important part of TPD's mission to enhance public safety and create collaborative solutions. Residents are encouraged to stop by, meet their neighborhood officers and enjoy a day of summer fun.
